I Like The Postman

This week the post has brought many good things to me,

My ticket to Breakestra at the Beck's Music Box in the city, no doubt this will be amazing
I ordered this DVD a few weeks ago from the US its made by a company called Matchstick productions who have made really good movies in the past, from the trailer it looked like it was going to be amazing but unfortunatly almost all the music sucked and there were only 3 shots of rail tricks the rest being 60% back country, 30% parks (this footage was amazingly good but not what i wanted to see) and the last % a ridiculously good base jumping section, clearly i was wanting rail/street shots and good music.

I found the packaging interesting, clearly from all the labels it went through a lot to get from Crested Butte (pronounced "beaut") Colorado to Perth, Western Australia.
This is a ridiculously sick, brand new looking Lamborghini i saw when i was dropping off an overdue book at uni, I have never seen one up close before, it is an amazing car.

I saw this nailed to a tree on the way to go skating at subi bowls, apparently Janet, who ever she is, won't listen to someone and that someone had to let everyone know.

good to see Frodos stickers have not been removed by the owner of this bin and the council.

I snapped my skateboarding vehicle, it lasted a week with a crack across the back bolts.

the bus driver wouldnt open the doors for me as he was leaving the bus stop even though i was brandishing my smart rider, i was not pleased.

i snapped my trucks a few weeks back even though i didnt land the trick...gay, james gave me some old ones...yay! they were too trashed to actually put the nuts back on...gay.

double bacon...double egg...double cheese...quadruple artery hardening...10000000x yum.

It is now full of Arsenic and heavy metals due to dredging, i went swimming in it the day they were at their highest levels...i may die soon.
we are very quickly becoming americans
MUSIC:

"Enter Galactic" by Kid Cudi
: STOP STOP STOP!!! dont judge it just because it is Kid Cudi, it is amazing, especially in the Chorus he sounds like Chromeo (check them out they are very good) it is a very good dance song, especially the chorus, i think i might hunt for good remixes incorporating the chorus.

"Diamonds on the Inside" by Ben Harper: My brother has been listening to this a lot i like it now, its quite chilled, yes it is an old song.

"I Think I Like it" by Fake Blood: I listened to the preview of this and thought it sounded sick, then i purchased it, then i thought it sounded shit, now i like it after listening to it a bit more, i think it would make a sick drop if mixed well.

"Food in The Belly" by Xavier Rudd: Again i found this from my brother, usually it is the other way around....has a pretty good message and has a lot of energy, i like Xavier Rudd songs that have a lot of energy and pace.

"Broken Leg" by Blue Juice: I Always heard this song on Triple J but never realised it was by Blue Juice, its pretty poppy which i dont normally like but blue juice are pretty sick and its a catchy song so its good.

"Grounds For Divorce" by Elbow: Heard this on Triple J a bit but never bothered to get it, then when i heard it on a TV ad i realised it was good so i downloaded it, again its pretty poppy but its catchy and not by some douche bag such as Kei$ha so it is good.

"Neoplolitan Dreams" by Lisa Mitchell: Again i heard this on Triple J but didnt download it and then i heard it on the packed to the rafters soundtrack which mum has so i decided to get it off that, It is a really relaxing yet upbeat song and her voice is amazing.

ALSO! one of my good friends Miller Best is currently down south filming world bodyboarding champion Mitch Rawlins for Mitch's big profile vid, he is working with a guy called James who works for Billabong (one of Mitch's major sponsors) and is learning how to use those big expensive high definition cameras which cost lots and lots of money. He will definatly post something about it on his own website when he gets back, but check it out right now coz he already has good stuff on it and is also a good skater with some clips on there. The site is http://www.millerbestmedia.com/ ... do it
MUSIC:
I've decided to make this little section on every blog saying which bands/music i am into at the moment coz i love finding new music and its just as good when people get stoked on music i show them, if u know of any good songs or like any of these songs let me know!
  • Breakestra: I originally found this LA funk band in an Adidas shoes podcast with the song "gotta let me know" and since then i have bought both their albums, pretty much every song with the exception of 1 is sick and they all vary but have the same roots which is sick, some of the songs are more funk-ish some are like R&B but not gay R&B like Chris Brown, others are almost like good rap. I am going to see them on february the 6th at the perth international arts festival which should be amazing but unfortunatly James Aherns 21st is the same night, i am heading there straight after. songs well worth checking out by anyone who likes happy music include: "Gotta Let Me Know", "Come on Over" "Family Rap"(features members of Jurrasic 5), "Dark Clouds Rain Soul", "Back at The Boat House", "Set the Sun", "At the End of the Day"
  • The Travelling Wilburys: This band is sick im pretty sure they only made one or two album but they were pretty much a super band comprised of Roy Orbison, George Harrison(from the beatles), Nelson Wilbury, Otis Wilbury, Jeff Lyne, Bob Dylan and. some pretty famous names in their so naturally they were good they are sort of country-ish/rock-ish kinda hard to describe. Good songs are: "Rattled","End of The Line", "Tweeter and the Monkey Man"

  • Bob Marley: I dont need to explain why.

  • Fake Blood: He is the most ridiculous DJ ever, does the best remixes and makes genuinly good songs, all his work has sick bass lines which will destroy both speakers and minds. Most people into electro/house music would probably of heard "Mars" which is pretty much an anthem due to its sudden yet sick bass drops which are borderline Dubstep. Other Amazing songs by him are: "Animal(Fake Blood Remix)" by Miike Snow, "Beeper(Fake Blood Remix)" by Count and Sinden, "Blood Splashing"

  • "Heads Will Roll(A-Trak Remix)" by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs A Remix done by A-trak who won worlds best DJ at the age of 15 and went on to be Kanye West's DJ when he performed, thankfully he no longer does that and is more into electro/house and dance.

  • "Boyfriend(D Cup Remix)" by KillaQueenz just a sick electro/house song.

  • "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole This song is amazing, its a chilled out ukilaly(is that how u spell it?) version by this morbidly obese guy with an amzing voice, unfortunatly he is dead.

  • Architecture In Helsinki are a band well worth checking out even though they are "an aquired taste" and take a while to get into they are alternative and very strange with stranger instruments such as the musical saw! songs worth checking out are: "Feather in a Baseball Cap", "One Heavy February", "Heart It races", "The Cemetery", "Do The Whirlwind", "Wishbone", "Debbie", It's 5!" "Beef in Box" some people may also know them for the song "That Beep" which is actually quite shit.

this is quite long coz i want every1 to know about this music, next time will be new stuff

I am back

I am using my blog again! i didn't bother with it for a while because i had a big ole case of CBF while uni was still on and now that i have had a decent break and am now bored i figured i would start using the blog again, also i got a pretty sick digital camera for my birthday and have been reading other peoples blogs so that also made me wanna start it again.

So... since my last post i have decided i am sick of studying for now and i am taking a gap year when i will hopefully go and work/live in south headland with my cousin and her boyfriend. This way i wont have to study and i can make bulk cash. i will probably do that for like 7 or 8 months or something then go travelling. The plan at the moment is to go to Vancouver with my friend Julian, who is originally from there and go skiing in Whistler Blackcomb which is one of the best mountains in the world. we would also see the sights and catch up with his family. Then we will hopefully go to america and wherever else we are interested in/ have enough money for. But if that falls through my family are also planning on going skiing in Japan in January 2011 which would be equally as sick.

but up until now i have been skating, got more into bodyboarding again after going down south, practised mixing with Tom Howard with his equipment and apparently i have got beter at it, and have been working a bit more at eziway supermarket swanbourne.

there will be photos coming soon because i just spent at least an hour waiting for 4 or 5 of them to upload but it kept saying uploading and i have to go to work, i will have to ask karmen or someone who is good at blogs how they get photos to upload quickly.
